Ministry Fair - Uncle Dave Macon Days

.

The The Fourth Annual Community Crossroads / Uncle Dave Macon Days MINISTRY FAIR will be gathering to share the good news about all the Faith-Based Organizations, Social Service Agencies, and Service Clubs in Rutherford County as part of the GOSPEL SHOWCASE Sunday Afternoon Event.

YOU ARE INVITED - if you are part of any sort of Faith-Based, Church Sponsored OUTREACH MINISTRY, or CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION, now is the time to let us know you will BE THERE to share with the crowd what your Ministry IS & DOES to HELP OTHERS here in Rutherford County. Likewise, if you are part of a SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY - as in United Way, Red Cross, Fire Department or EMT group - or a SERVICE CLUB - like Lions, Rotary, Optimist - YOU TOO are INVITED.

There are THREE Simple STEPS to participate:

1.

REGISTER to LET US KNOW you can come. Call or email our Organizer - Candy Carter - at (615) 481-4709 or Email candycarter@communitycrossroads.com There is NO FEE to participate !!! If you will call or email to REGISTER before Sunday, June 22, you will have your group's name Listed as part of the Ministry Fair section in the Program Guide that is distributed (3000 copies!) during the entire Uncle Dave Macon Days weekend.
2.

PREPARE - Tell others in your Organization, Agency, or Service Club about the MINISTRY FAIR and enlist their volunteer support, ideas, and modest donations to make your display interesting and exciting for attendees to learn about your group's services. Plan to bring one of those Cabana-type pop-up tents (it is apt to be sunny and hot!) - a TABLE and CHAIRS for your display - a big plastic or metal tub, ice, bottles of water to share, and at least one BOX FAN and some long heavy-duty extension cords. If someone your group may have a PORTABLE GENERATOR, to help power yours and other's fans, please bring it. We need to put the generators some distance away from our displays so as to keep noise to a minimum. Bring - in addition to your display materials - SOME SMALL TOYS OR GAMES to give to the children (email Adam Swanson - adam@getvictory.org - if you need some items like that, he has tons of 'em. Chances are you will have more chance of talking to parents if you have something on hand to give their kids while you share with them!) Finally - PREPARE A SINGLE PAGE - double-spaced, typed SUMMARY of your group's services, which will be READ from the STAGE, like a radio commercial, during the entire afternoon of Music and Fun, to promote your service activities and encourage attendees to visit your display.
3.

SHOW UP and HAVE FUN! - The afternoon GOSPEL SHOWCASE CONCERT will get underway shortly after NOON, so it is best to come set up your display between 11 AM and Noon, please. There will be staff on site by 10 AM to assist anyone who may be able to get there that early. Many of the Food Vendors are staying on for Sunday, though quite often Ministry Fair participants may also wish to bring a cooler with your own picnic items, perhaps with a little extra to share a sandwich or two with a neighbor exhibitor.

The Community Crossroads Project is all about encouraging dialogue and better networking between "traditional" Social Service Agencies and the growing number of dedicated, well-informed and equipped Faith Based Outreach Ministry Organizations and Service Clubs. Most importantly - many times follks who visit the Ministry Fair displays will discover a new appreciation for the kinds of real issues being addressed by our various *mostly volunteer* groups, and some powerful resources of previously unknown information in hand to help those they know who may have needs. Each year the Ministry Fair has grown, exceeding the number of participants who attended the previous year. With your help, this exciting trend will continue, demonstrating that Rutherford County truly IS a place where we are actively interested in learning from one another and working together to address the needs of those who live in our midst ~ in a personal and consistently effective way.

Please contact Candy Carter ASAP - 481-4709 or candycarter@communitycrossroads.com - to register your group's display space for July 13th. We're looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks - in advance - for your compassionate consideration and generous willingness to make this year's MINISTRY FAIR the best one ever!
