Greg Reish

Greg Reish, Director of MTSU’s Center for Popular Music, is both a scholar and performer of old-time and bluegrass music. As a singer, storyteller, and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, dulcimer, ukulele) he has performed across much of the United States and made a six-city solo tour of Japan. Rooted in the traditions of Norman Blake, Doc Watson, and Mike Seeger, and drawing on his extensive knowledge of instrumental styles and folksong histories, Reish digs deep into the twisted roots of Southern music to present engaging and powerful shows for every audience.
